NOTICE TO PARENTS/CARERS OF CHILDREN AGED 2 – 16 YEARS
SCHOOL ADMISSION ARRANGEMENTS 2011/12
Shropshire Council is the Local Authority for all maintained schools in Shropshire, and the Admissions Authority for all Community and CE Controlled Schools. As such we need to notify all parents/carers of children aged 2 – 16 years that a Consultation exercise on School Admission Arrangements for 2011/12 is currently in progress for a period of 8 weeks up until 28 February 2010. All Aided and Foundation Schools are their own Admissions Authorities, but they must also consult on their admission arrangements.
Information on all the admissions policies can be found on the Shropshire website: www.shropshire.gov.uk, by following the link to the School Admissions webpage. The basic arrangements for 2011/12 will in large measure be the same as in previous years although primary admission arrangements will for the first time be co-ordinated. Shropshire’s in-year admission scheme which will be effective from September 2010 is also available on the website along with the current edition of the “Parents’ Guide to Education in Shropshire”.
